We're On the Move!

A reminder that we are on a journey to our new meeting place - Maggiano’s Little Italy, Perimeter Mall, 4400 Ashford Dunwoody Rd., Dunwoody, GA. Here's where you'll find us for the next few weeks:

  • This week, we're at the Dunwoody Country Club on Thursday night - to celebrate our Rotary Year (see story below)
  • Saturday, June 21, you can go to Bounds Gardens at 9:00 AM
  • Next Friday - June 27 - will be our first meeting at Maggiano's.

And while we'll keep meeting Fridays at Maggiano's, the week after our move we're still "on the move" - with the float decorating party on June 29 and the rest of our July 4 tradition. Join us on the parade route or at the hot dog stand to welcome in the new Rotary year. We hope to see everyone everywhere!!!

June 19 Special Event
Don’t Miss Our End of Year Celebration!!!

We hope you are planning to join us Thursday, June 19 at 5:30pm for our end of the Rotary year celebration at the Dunwoody Country Club. The Rotary Club of Dunwoody will celebrate our recent Club of the Year award and all we have accomplished during Louise Barden’s year as President.

You and a guest are invited for this dinner event tomorrow night, but please reach out today to Dave Burr (dave@mailcenteretc.com) to confirm your reservation.

As part of the celebration, Louise Barden is creating centerpieces for the tables which the dinner guests can purchase for $25. All the proceeds will be donated to Anchor Place Respite Dunwoody.

Service and Fellowship
It's Bounds Garden Saturday!

Ready to play in the dirt with your friends from the Rotary Club of Dunwoody? Then this is your lucky Saturday! Join Ranger Fred Bounds as he continues this week's celebration of the green at Bounds Gardens, the traffic island across from the Dunwoody Library! We'll be there - with gloves and our favorite garden tools - at 9 am. this Saturday, June 21. Hope you can join us!

Attention Parade Enthusiasts! July 4 is coming!

Have you watched a parade and thought, “I wonder who builds the floats?” or “How could I be part of that?” NOW is your opportunity – you can help build the float AND/or march in the Dunwoody Fourth of July parade, as part of your Rotary Club of Dunwoody! You will be helping carry out a fun-filled 30+ year RCD tradition:

  • Float building will take place Sunday, June 29 at Alison North’s home – under the direction of RCD parade chairs Alison North and Jennie Stipick. Come for a late afternoon of float-building, fun, fellowship and food as everyone brings a food item and beverage to share.
  • The parade starts on July 4 at 9:00 AM from the corner of Jett Ferry and Mt. Vernon Highway. We’ll provide more information next week on exactly where our walkers will gather and what time they need to arrive.

If parading isn't your idea of fun, think about the July 4 hot dog booth. Jay Brackman can use your help there!

Fun and Community
Join the Dunwoody Family of Rotary for an Unforgettable Fourth of July!

Ready to be part of a long-running Rotary Club of Dunwoody tradition? Then mark your calendar now for Dunwoody's Fourth of July celebration. While the price of hot dogs has increased, the fun and fellowship only grows stronger.

You've seen the article on the parade. You can also be part of the hot dog stand. Jay Brackman is leading the charge there and can use people who want to set-up, grill, prep the hot dogs, cashier and just spread some good Rotary Club of Dunwoody spirit. Contact Jay at atlcubsfan@gmail.com or 404-483-5886 if you would like to help out.

Anchor Place Respite Celebrates First Birthday!

Dunwoody Rotarians joined Anchor Place Respite Care last Saturday to celebrate a major milestone - the one-year anniversary of Anchor Place! What an incredible celebration at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Dunwoody, GA. Huge congratulations to Mary Cohen, the program’s dedicated leader, who has guided this vital community resource from its early days to the thriving success it is today.
A special shoutout to our very own Charlie Augello, of E. 48 Street Market, for his unwavering support of this program.
During today’s celebration, Mary took time to recognize all the amazing supporters who made this first year possible, including our own Louise and Ron Barden, Jackie Cuthbert, Fred Bounds, Tina and David Philpot, Les Woulfin and Anne Glenn.

It truly takes a village of volunteers to make programs like this work! And we're proud to have been part of the start of this fine program and an integral part of its future!

Mark Calendar: August 2
Take Me Out to the Ball Game ...

Join us for a fun night with the Gwinnett Stripers at Cool Ray Field in Lawrenceville on August 2, 2025.  Game time is at 6 pm. Prior to the game there is going to be a car show so you may want to arrive early to check out the cars. The cars also will parade on the field between innings.

Tickets are $20 each. Please contact Sherry Levy at sherrylevy13@hotmail.com or speak with Ken Levy if you want to attend. Everyone is invited. Kids under 15 can attend at no charge. All attendees will be responsible for their own food and snacks. Like previous years, our seats are under the overhang on the first base side so we will be sheltered from bright sun or rain should there be any.

Rotary International News
RI Names New President for 2025-26

You may remember Matthew mentioning last Friday that the RI President-Elect had announced he was stepping down from his presidency that would have started July 1. This past Saturday, Rotary International announced a new President for 2025-26 -  Francesco Arezzo of the Rotary Club of Ragusa, Italy.

Current RI President Stephanie Urchick said, "Francesco Arezzo has been a member of Rotary for more than 30 years and is a Benefactor of The Rotary Foundation.  His dedication to Rotary values and vision for a better world make him a remarkable choice to lead us forward.  This transition reminds us that Rotary is more than any one individual—it is a global movement, deeply rooted in fellowship and service, capable of adapting and thriving no matter the challenge.  Now is the time to Unite for Good under Francesco’s leadership, and together we will propel Rotary into a future defined by hope, action, and community."
